Due to an accident as a child, this patient lost a front tooth. His options for tooth replacement were a removable retainer to wear for the rest of his life; not ideal since the retainer can be quite annoying. Or he could have his healthy natural teeth ground down to make room for a bridge. Or in some circumstances an implant would be an option, but since the tooth had been missing for too long, he did not have adequate bone for an implant. The solution we chose is called a Marilyn Bridge. By bonding directly to the back of the teeth, we were able to very conservatively anchor the Marilyn Bridge to the adjacent teeth while preserving the natural tooth structure of the healthy teeth.
